Playing with Cousin Shena

Shena stopped by today on her way thru town to see Libby's new playroom and play for a few hours. We had not seen her in forever, and she was so amazed at how grown up Libby is now. She had not seen her pulling up, waving bye-bye or gabbering before. It's amazing how much she changes every day! Thanks, Shena, for the visit!

Yes, JP was there....

It appears that I accidentally left JP out of the previous blog entry. Yes, he was at the party and as you can see, he is also enjoying Libby's new playroom!

Angie Turns 29 (for the 1st time!)

We had a small get together this weekend to celebrate my birthday and to break in Libby's playroom. I turned 29 on Easter Sunday. Since Easter is one of the holidays that does not fall on the same day each year (Easter is observed on the first Sunday after the full moon that occurs after the spring equinox) this is the first time I had ever shared my Birthday with Easter(the last time Easter was on April 8th was 1928...it will be again in 2012, but then, not again to 2091). Okay, enough about Easter lessons, moving on.....

As you can see, the girls broke in Libby's playroom with no problem. They had toys (and Cheerios) strung everywhere! Kayla & Allie seemed to love their princess lipstick that we gave them for Easter. Above, Kayla shares it with Libby. "Why is her shirt so wet?", you are asking yourself......

....because Libby learned how to drink from a sippy cup this week (well, sort of).

While the little kids played with Libby's toys, the big kids played with the other toys. Goob appears to be giving Gary a "Congrats Butt Slap" for something that he did on Golden Tee.

Jill did a great job playing bartender. We made such delicious drinks as "Show me your birthday Smoot" (inside joke), "I did not steal that Skunk, you Punk" (another inside joke) and "Martion Pee" (seen below). Thanks, guys for a great birthday celebration!
The next round is on me!

Playdate with my favorite Playmate!

After our original plans to go to the lake and paint today fell thru, I dropped Libby off at Mema's and ran a billion errands. I forgot how easy is was to run into store after store without loading and unloading Libby and her million necessities...diaper bag, toys, Cheerios, etc. Needless to say, I got a lot accomplished out and about! Afterwards, Sophia & Amy came over to play in Libby's new playroom!

How would you like your eggs? Sophia loved the new kitchen set that Emma gave Libby today! I was so amazed at how well Sophia walks around holding onto things. She can even stand unassisted for several seconds! She is going to be walking so soon!

Speaking of walking, we decided to take Libby's new wheels for a test drive.
We were only able to take a short walk before the sky turned very black and it started to pour! The girls looked so cute in their hats!

Sophia & Libby enjoyed their dinner of squash, peas and chicken sticks. The jury is still out about Sophia and the chicken sticks....For those of you who do not know, chicken sticks are made my Gerber and look like Vienna Sausage in a jar, but taste like Spam. I am pretty sure that my dad is the only person who likes Spam, but Libby thinks that the Chicken Sticks are pretty good---Spam flavor and all! After the little girls had their dinner, the big girls ordered pizza. Here we dine at Libby's Little Mermaid table. I am pretty sure that we exceeded the weight limit on the chairs, but they stood strong!

Baby, You Can Drive My Car!

Shannon & Emma graciously gave Libby a carload of toys today! One of Libby's favorite was this car that she can "drive" while Mommy pushes it. For those of you who don't know, Libby loves to make the "oooohhhh" sound, and driving/riding in her car is no exception! She grabbed right onto the steering wheel and began jabbering right away! Thanks, Emma, for this sweet ride! How can we ever repay you for all of the goodies that you hand down to us?

Weekend at the Lake

After working our tails off last weekend around our house, we were looking forward to a weekend at the lake. Gary, Libby & I headed down Friday night for what was going to be a relaxing evening, before the Spring Cleaning was to begin on Saturday. When Gary turned on the water for the first time since we closed up last winter, he came inside stating "No good Goose", so strange remark from the movie Top Gun that he picked up from Kevin. A water leak is inevitable in an old lake house, especially one with pipes as old as the ones that are under the house! So, after a night with no water (luckily we had a few bottles of water for Libby), we welcomed Chris Saturday morning with open arms, hoping to have the water problem fixed in no time! Above, Libby and her daddy stand in the front yard.

Poor Chris spent the entire day Saturday under the house. After he would fix a leak, a new one would pop up. It was nearly 5 when he was finished and we got cleaned up at went to the Lodge for Dinner and to celebrate my birthday. Above, Keaton and Libby on the deck.

At the lodge, Libby found an Easter basket that was as big as she was! She loves to eat table food, and was stuffing her mouth, fist over fist, with hand fulls of chicken, fruit and veggies.

In addition to all of the remodeling at home that we are doing, we are also converting a walk-in closet at the camp into Libby's room (Please note, "we" basically means Gary's brother Chris). We took turns entertaining Libby during the weekend while we cleaned, pulled up old flooring and worked outside. It'll be great when all of the work is done and we can enjoy our weekends at the camp! Nonetheless, it was fun to spend the weekend together!
