Our 5th Anniversary

Today is our 5th wedding anniversary. It is amazing to think back to all of the hurdles that Gary and I have overcome in the last 5 years as husband & wife. I thought I might share a few old photos with you all. At the time of our wedding, I was in nursing school and working weekends as a nursing assistant at Southern Indiana Rehab Hospital. Gary had just finished Grad School at U of L and was working as a probation officer for Floyd County. We lived in a small house that we bought in New Albany.

By our first anniversary, Gary had gotten into Law School at U of L. I had graduated from Nursing School and had started my job at Norton Hospital. For our 1st Anniversary, we went to West Virgina for a white water rafting/camping weekend. It was beautiful.
By our second anniversary, we were feeling more comfortable in our careers. Life was a blur for poor Gary who worked all day, went to school all night and played and studied all weekend. We did manage, however, to work in a few fun trips that year...including many camping trips and a trip to Disney world.

Here we are just a few weeks before our 3rd Anniversary. I had just been named Med-Surg nurse of the year at Norton's Hospital, and Gary had just accepted a Summer Associate position at the law firm he currently works for. We were still living in New Albany, and spending most weekends camping and hanging out with our friends and family. Boy did things change by our 4th anniversary! Gary had been offered a job working for Greenbaum, Doll & McDonald and we were planning on moving to a bigger house in Floyds Knobs. We had been talking about starting a family, and before we knew it, everything fell into place. Libby was due in just a few weeks and we knew that our lives were going to change forever! (yeah, I was huge!). Gary graduated in the top of his class from U of L law school and was studying for his bar that he was going to be taking just days after Libby was born!

Okay, well, flash forward to now. Most of you read by blog often and are aware of our day to day doings. We are so happy to have shared 5 years with each other and know that our lives wouldn't be the same without you all in them! Today, Gary, Libby & I went to lunch to celebrate our anniversary. We have a game tonight, so stay tuned for the highlights! We are playing one of the best teams in the league!!
