Boo to You!

After a week without a properly working computer monitor...I am back and ready to show you all that has happened this week! As you know, Libby was Minnie Mouse for Halloween. She loved Trick-or-Treating! We had been practicing for the big night for more than a week, and she did great!! She drove her car around Betsy's neighborhood and said "Mooore?" when someone would give her candy. Many of the folks thought this was cute, which resulted in "Mooore" candy for Mommy & Daddy to eat!
Nonna & Pop came to Betsy & Ray's to spend the evening Trick-or-Treating with Libby.
Libby & her "Poppa Ray" enjoy a few minutes before the big "Trick-or-Treat" event.

Libby is crazy about her uncle Chris (he IS always feeding her!!!)

Keaton, Carson & Libby pose for a quick photo.Libby & MiMi call it a night! Thanks for having us! We had a great time!

Future Olympic Champions

Tonight was Libby & Sophia's first gymnastic class at SIGS Sports complex. They are in a 15-22 Month class that is designed to help with simple motor skills as well as be an introduction to tumbling. Libby & Sophia did great considering they were the youngest in their class. Here is our class, which consists of all girls and 3 boys. Most of the older kids have some sort of "tumbling" experience, but our teacher, Ms. Kelly, was very encouraging to us.
Libby taking her turn on the "balance beam". This was by far her favorite thing to do! At first, she wasn't too sure about the rocky thing, but once she gained more trust in her Mommy & Daddy, she began to enjoy it.
As you can see, Sophia enjoyed it from the get-go.
Our little monkey did great crawling over this thing. This is where having a slide in the living room came in handy. She got to the top each time and began "One...Two....Weee".
We couldn't get over how great Sophia did on the trampoline and on the hanging bars (I am sure they have a "real" name, but we didn't learn them this class!)
After class, we all went to dinner. Here, Libby & Sophia discuss what they learned tonight. Libby is sporting her much-needed rain coat!

The Zoo Crew

This afternoon, we decided to enjoy the beautiful day with some of our friends at the "Largest Halloween Party in the World". I always used to laugh when I heard that, but geeze, there really were a ton a people at this Halloween party at the Louisville Zoo! Now, I wouldn't doubt it that it is, indeed, the largest party in the world! We got some candy, got to see some characters and enjoy the perfect weather!

The zoo had lots of special guests such as the cast from the Wizard of Oz, the Flintstones and many other Disney folks, such as Tinker Bell, Peter Pan and Snow White. We thought it would be so cute to have Sophia's picture taken with a 'big' Tinkerbell, but she was not so sure. Libby just wanted to run from Snow White and Prince Charming!

The Banet Family!
Allie, the Lady Bug, chillin' in her wagon!

Daddy enjoyed getting the candy more than Libby did! We did let Libby have a sucker, though! Our own Disney princesses! Sophia as Tinkerbell, Libby as Minnie Mouse and Kayla as Belle! I tried to bribe Allie (with cash!) to be in the photo, but she didn't take me up on it!

Sophia relaxing, enjoying her first taste of a sucker! After the zoo, we all went out for a yummy dinner before heading home. It was so nice to get together!

A visit to Patoka

Saturday, we enjoyed the beautiful day and went down to Mom & Dad's camp at Patoka Lake. Libby met one of Mom's friend's granddaughters, named Isabella. Don't they look cute in their matching orange?
What's better than having your Nonna & Pop give you anything you want at their camp? Having everyone else's grandparents give you whatever you want, too!! Here, Cathy lets Libby eat cheese dip right out of the carton with a spoon!
A trip to the playground, more golf cart rides than I can count, lots of yummy food and spending time with her Nonna & Pop.....

....made for one tired girl! We didn't even make it a mile before she fell asleep! Thanks for having us...we had a great time!

Planning Party

Friday night, we went over to Shawn & Sarah's house to make a few plans for our upcoming Gatlinburg trip. We are going to go away for the weekend with them, JP & Jill, Goob & Shannon, Joni & Christian and Amy & Cory. We rented a huge chalet and we plan on just relaxing for the long weekend. We do have a few things planned...Outlet mall shopping, drinking, wedding vow renewal, pancake eating and hill-billy golf playing to name a few. They guys practice their card playing for the weekend.I don't want to get into details about the wedding vow renewal...I'd like to keep you all in suspense. However, here is a photo of Shawn modeling his bride of 9 year's wedding dress that she is going to wear!

Getting ready for Halloween!

Since Halloween is just a few weeks away, we have been trying to get Libby used to wearing her ears on her costume. This year, she is going to be Minnie Mouse and since she is usually not thrilled with bows on her head, I decided to start early. Isn't she a doll??? Here, she poses with her Minnie Mouse doll. She loves it when I sing the "Mickey Mouse" song.
I found this pumpkin (yes, at a yard sale!) and she has been playing with it for a week or so around the house. She loves to put her blocks in it! We have been trying to teach her to say "Trick-or-Treat", but it comes out "Tee-Tee" which I think is slang for an entirely different thing! We still have a few more weeks to work on it, though!

Mother of the Year

Today, Amy & I took the girls and hit a few yard sales. We founds a few cute outfits and some toys (like they need them!!). I had been looking for a toddler bed for the lake and found one for just $25! After I purchased it, it occurred to me that we might not be able to fit it into my car with the two girls! After about 30 minutes of arranging and rearranging, we decided to turn it upside down and ride with it over Libby's head for the few miles to Amy's house. I am sure that this will earn me some sort of Mother of the Year award!!
Just so you know, I drove really slow and we only had a few miles to go to Amy's house!!
We made it up to the girls by treating them to McDonald's. They loved their toy that they got in their Happy Meal!

Slide Pride

Chris & Carrie gave Libby a slide a while back that their boys had outgrown. We had not put it in the yard because it was too hot to play outside...so instead it has been in our living room for a month, now. Up until now, we would sit Libby at the top and we'd say "One" and she would say, "Two...." and then some version of "Three/wee". This morning, I asked her if she wanted to slide, and before I knew it, she climbed up the latter like she had done it a thousand times before! She does not quite have the turning around down pat, but she loves her slide!!

What a little ham!
