"Farm" Fresh Fish

Sunday, while Gary went to the lake to fix the pipes and mow the grass, Libby & I went down to the family farm (AKA: Camp Polly Wally) on Indian Creek for a family fish fry. Uncle Mark & Eddie and some of my cousins go to Reel Foot Lake each year for a fishing trip. Since they are fishing this week, they wanted to fry all of their last year's catches. Here, Libby & Nonna enjoy the creek.

Libby & Cousin Susan

Frying fish, sampling onion rings and yes, drinking beer!

Cousin Diane helps Libby make a quick call on her Barbie cell phone. After lunch, Diane and I took the canoe up the creek for a little R&R. Our arms got tired, so we relied on the guys in their fishing boat with their trolling motor to tow us back to the bank. Wow, are we lazy or what!? It was the best fish that I had ever had and I certainly hope that they get lots more this week to enjoy for the next fish fry!!

He loves me...He loves me not!

We went over to Chris & Carrie's house this evening for Keaton's First Communion party. Libby had on this precious outfit that Amy & Sophia picked out for her, so I decided to take her outside and let her look at a daisy and snap a few photos. I loved this one...it looks like she is saying "He loves me, He loves me not". I can only assume that she is talking about her Daddy--and the answer certainly is "He loves me"! Thanks for the outfit, Sophia!

It's Hard to be Neat...When you're learning to eat!

Mmmm...Chicken & Noodle dinner for supper tonight! When we feed Libby her meals, we give her a spoon of her own to hold while we are shoveling the food in. Usually, she just plays with it, drops it and gags herself with it, but it is suppose to help teach her to feed herself. Tonight, she showed so much interest in feeding herself, that I let her go. She was dipping the spoon in her bowl, and scooping it to her mouth. As you can see, she missed a little, but like I said before...it's hard to be neat, when you're learning to eat!!!

As you might guess, our next stop was the bathtub! Libby loves to take a bath and will play with her ducks until her fingers & toes start to shrivel and we make her get out. No one knows this better than my mom who has "Nonna Night" every Thursday night. Mom feeds Libby and gives her a bath (while making Gary and I dinner---how does she do it????).

Birthday (Pan)Cake

Libby's Cousin Keaton turned 9 years old today! For his birthday dinner, he chose The IHOP for Pancakes, instead of Birthday Cake! Here Libby is pictured with her cousins Keaton, Carson and her "almost-cousin" Sidney. Libby was such a good girl thru most of dinner and enjoyed the bites of eggs and ham that mommy gave her!
The IHOP waiter announced to everyone that it was Keaton's Birthday and we all clapped!

Including Libby!

Libby & her Mimi!

As luck would have it, our friends Cory, Amy & Sophia decided to dine at The IHOP tonight, too. You know what they say about great minds....

On a completely unrelated side-note, a special shout-out to my friends Amy R. and Sherry for taking my stitches out yesterday! Both are avid Blog readers, and I wanted to publicly thank them for the minor surgery that they preformed on me while on the clock at work! **Note**socks and hardwood floors do not mix!!!

Hey Batter, Batter!

After much discussion, we decided to play on a co-ed softball league this summer. Tonight, we met at a park for our first practice. Libby & Kayla get ready with their gloves & balls.

Currently, our teams consists of 12 members. The name has yet to be picked, but a few suggestions are...."Bad News Beers", "The kids picked Last", "With Ourselves" and "off In the Shower". I know you may be a little confused with the last 2 suggestions, but think of our opponents saying who they play tonight...."We Play..." or when they brag, "We Beat..." I would explain further, but this is a "G" rated blog.

Our cheering section.

After all of the base running and ball throwing, we all were pretty beat by the time practice was over! Hope to see you all next week! Lord knows I can use all of this exercise!

Farewell to Brittany

Gary's cousin, Brittany, just graduated from grad school and is moving to North Carolina to be an athletic director at a small college. Today, we went to Community Park to celebrate her graduation, and to say "good-bye". Here is the graduate with Libby.
Mema made some of her yummy fried chicken for the party. Libby's face instantly lit up when she heard Mema's voice when we got there! They love each other so much!

Gary fed her watermelon for the first time! She loved it...and he couldn't shovel it in fast enough for her!

I took Libby down to the lake to look at the ducks.

Gary and Jeremy took her to the park and down the slide for the first time.

Just a-swingin' with Dada.

And the Tunder Rolls...

Today Libby went over to Nonna & Pop's house for the night while Gary & I attended the Thunder Over Louisville festivities. Nonna & Pop got a new Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and were enjoying the beautiful weather before we got there. Libby looks so tiny on Pop's new, big, shiny motorcycle! Gary & I went to his firm's Thunder Party. We had all sorts of yummy food (complete with a chocolate fountain) and of course all of the beer or wine that you could drink! We were assigned offices to watch the fireworks, so Gary & I sat in a partner's office on the 32nd floor, that overlooked the river and the bridges. It was so beautiful! After Thunder, Gary & I knew that we would have a terrible time trying to get out of downtown, so we walked to 4th Street and topped off the evening with a little snack & people watching on the patio of The Hard Rock Cafe. It was so funny to watch the sunburned drunk people stumble by. Thanks Nonna & Pop for keeping Libby for the night so Gary & I could enjoy an adult evening!

Friday Night Lights

Tonight, Libby attended her first Baseball game. It got cool, so Libby had to put on one of the boy's spare shirts (she sort of looked like a Miss-fit!)

Keaton played catcher for most of his game, and made a lot of awesome plays!

Uncle Chris shows Libby a few things about Baseball.

After the game, Gary, Libby & I went to Sam's to eat dinner. When we pulled into the parking lot, we saw our friend's cars. Shannon & Goob (and Allie), Mark & Dena (and Lilly, TJ & Kevin) and JP & Jill (and Kayla) had just left gymnastics, and getting a bite to eat. We pulled up another table to join them and had a few laughs.

Nine Months Old, Already!

Sophia & Libby turned 9 months old this week. It is so hard to believe, and it it amazing how much they have grown into their own personalities in this amount of time. They are still the best of friends, fighting only when one takes the other Cheerio, toy or Sippy Cup. Sophia is walking now, taking up to 5 steps at a time, and Libby is "cruising" around furniture and will take a few steps when she pushes her car toy.

Bariatric Buddies

Today my new manager, Lisa, was taking some photos of us at work for something. For those of you who don't know, I work on a Bariatric unit at a local hospital. Here I am pictured with some of my best work buddies---Amy R, Lina, Amy C and Lexie. Without them (and our good friend Sherry who is missing from the photo op), I don't know if I could survive my job. They make going to work fun! We are constantly playing jokes on eachother and laughing...all the while getting our work done and taking care of patients. Thanks, girls for making work fun!

Beautiful day for a Walk!

After a morning of errand running, Libby & I went to Angie & Kevin's house for a bit. It was such a beautiful day that we decided to take the kids for a walk thru the neighborhood next to their house.

After our walk, Libby & Josie pose for a photo (doesn't Josie look thrilled!?).

After our visit with Josie & Blane, Libby & I went to Mimi's house. Libby stayed and went for another walk around her neighborhood while I went to water aerobics. Here Libby and her Mimi (Betsy) pose for a quick photo before their walk. What a beautiful day to be out!

A visit with my Cousins

We went to visit Libby's cousins Josie & Blane today. Blane is just a month old, and looks so tiny next to Libby...and Josie, who just turned 4 in February, looks so grown up! Josie handed down a bag full of goodies to Libby today...mostly shoes, which Libby loves! After our visit, we drove to Seymour to go to the outlet mall to pick up a few deals! Libby did really well during the long ride and was so tired of shopping that she even slept the entire way back. What a fun way to spend a blah rainy Saturday!

Girl's Night

Amy, Joni, Jill, Shannon & I went out for our monthly "girl's night" on Friday the 13th. Superstition didn't hold us back from having a great time! We started the evening having dinner at Rocky's on the River.
After dinner, we headed down to Fourth Street Live. The girls stand next to the "Street Closed, Party's Open" sign.

We went to "Howl at the Moon". A fun piano bar on Forth Street. Here, we hung out, sang along with the music and chatted.

When I went to buy our first round of drinks, the bartender mistook Joni for someone who called her a name earlier on in the night. She almost didn't serve us, and then harassed Joni & Jill when the went to buy the second round of drinks. The girls & I were fuming mad after this, and asked to speak to the manager. Shortly after asking to speak the manager, the bartender sent us 10 free Bud lights to apologize for the mistaken identity. Apology excepted....and thanks for the drinks.
The drinking didn't stop there. Another round of free drinks headed our way---a round of orange & cherry jello shots out of a Tomey Syringe covered in whip cream. Delish. Please note that the photo above is one of the only pictures in existence of Shannon consuming alcholol. She did take the shot like a pro, though.

Amy & I pose for a picture.

After leaving Forth Street Live, we went to White Castle for a quick bite. What drunken evening would be complete without some Sliders and a Big Red? Thanks girls for a great night!

Libby's 1st Easter

We had such a great (but busy) Easter and Birthday! We started out the morning to find that the Easter Bunny had visited our house to bring Libby lots of goodies...a life jacket and beach towel will both be great this summer at the lake! Afterwards, we went to Church as St. Mary's which was literally standing room only! We made our way to Nonna & Pop's house for the best brunch that I had ever had!

Nonna, Pop & Libby on the deck.

Libby loved the Easter eggs (a little too much...she ended up with dye on her face & dress!)

Nonna & Pop got Libby a train that she had been wanting. As you can see, she is so excited! She kept on saying "OOhhhhh" and chasing after it!

We stopped by Mark & Denise's house for a short visit! Here Libby takes a second to pose with her favorite Great Uncle Mark!

After visiting Mark, Denise & the boys, we headed to Chris & Carrie's house for dinner. Keaton & Carson really got a kick out of the sand kit and clay kit that we got them for Easter! They couldn't hardly wait to open it up!

Oscar was not left out, either. Here he poses in his new polo shirt that the Easter Bunny brought him!

Betsy said that her mom always made this cake every year for Easter. It is a beautiful lamb, but we decided that it sort of looked like Oscar, too. You can see the resemblance, can't you? Uncle Chris Let Libby stick her finger in it! What a great day! Maybe Libby will be so wore out she'll sleep thru the night....one can only hope!
